South Metro Wedding Photography
Absolutely loved this south metro wedding. There were so many fun, rustic touches. They also had these really fantastic steam punk Lego man boutonnieres. There was a mad dash for shelter during a brief cloud burst but we made it! The groom and his groomsmen all did a super hero entrance to the reception. I also saw my very first Minecraft tie! It was such a fun group.
Stillwater wedding photography
D and P had a very ambitious wedding planned. In the morning they had their Hindu wedding with all the bride’s family from India. In the afternoon they had a Christian ceremony as well. There was a lot to do and a lot of friends and family cycling through the always beautiful Camrose Hills Farm. I love photographing Indian weddings and this was no exception. Everyone was so wonderful and fun. Doing two weddings in one day is quite an undertaking but everything went really well! There wasn’t a lot of time left for dancing at the end of the night but they certainly made the most of it!
Ham Lake Wedding Photographer
This wedding was a first for me. I’ve worked with clients with different kinds of disabilities and different kinds of needs. However, this was my first wedding with a quadriplegic bride. Her injury was also the most severe of other quadriplegics I’ve worked with. It certainly led to many unique challenges for us! Fortunately, everyone was an absolute delight to work with. They were so very much in love, it was deeply moving. The groom said that while he knew he was in love with her the very first time they met, he waited until the second email to tell her so. So sweet! This beautiful spring wedding in Ham Lake at the Majestic Oaks Golf Club featured a neopagan hand fasting. I loved all the personal elements that were incorporated throughout the ceremony and reception. Even the cake topper was absolutely perfect. The groom said he painted the figurine’s hair brown so it would match his bride. Like many weddings, the kids were the first people out on the dance floor but once it was time for her first dance, the bride and groom cut loose! They danced and twirled and lit up the room with their joy. Congratulations!
St. Paul Wedding Photography
This was a beautiful Ethiopian wedding in St. Paul, MN. We started with the groom, then went to the bride’s home to pick her up from her family. This is a traditional practice and was so much fun. From there we went to Como for some pictures before heading to the always stunning DS Event Center. There was a break for evening prayers and then the party got into full swing! The party ran late into the night of course and was warm and joyful.
Minneapolis and St. Paul wedding photography
A and D were married at always stunning Hidden Falls Park in St. Paul. The rain showed up just in time to force the ceremony under the awning. It cleared up shortly after though so the wedding party could still play some yard games. The reception was held at Gallery 13 in Minneapolis. It was really fun and a little different.
I get a lot of questions about photographing a wedding in the rain. I think this shows how beautiful a wedding can be even when it’s raining. Check out the purple rain boots the bride wore!
Congratulations!
Robin and Amado – St. Paul wedding photography
Robin and Amado were married in a very small and intimate wedding ceremony at Dr. Chocolate’s Chocolate Chateau. I was so thrilled I was able to cover this wedding. Often times, people who are having small or nontraditional weddings forgo a photographer. It makes me sad! Nontraditional weddings are my specialty and I absolutely love capturing the unique and individual personalities at these events.
Robin wore a gorgeous purple dress as she had trouble finding a wedding dress she liked at seven months pregnant. I absolutely loved her radiant smile and was so moved by the love between her and Amado. The two of them had the most breathtaking smiles and I saw a LOT of them during our time together. It was utterly infectious and they brought so much joy to everyone around them.
We did lots of fun pictures in and around their neighborhood in St. Paul. Amado has lived off Summit for an extremely long time and knew all sorts of amazing locations. It was perfect!
Their families were so warm and loving. I had a fantastic time working with all of them.
Congratulations Robin and Amado!
Charlotte and Tristan – Cottage Grove Wedding Photographer
This was such a very sweet wedding. I had such a wonderful time working with Charlotte and Tristan at the gorgeous Mississippi Dunes Golf Links. This is one of my favorite places to photograph. Their outdoor ceremony location is very beautiful and there are so many great places to work with.
A fun couple along with such a beautiful location made it hard for me to edit down these to just a few images! They had a really cute Lego cake topper and had a foot washing ceremony during their wedding. Lots of really unique and fun touches. Charlotte did some really cool and modern design work for their invitations so I did a lot of pictures of those for her too.
Congratulations on your wedding! I had a great time working with you.
Logan – Three Month Old Portraits
I was so thrilled to work with little Logan again. He was so sweet at his newborn session. Of course, now he’s a little older and had a few more opinions about our efforts to take his picture. Despite his troubles, we got a lot of great pictures with him and had a lot of fun at Minnehaha Falls Park in Minneapolis. I can’t wait to see him again!
Christina and Jim – Minneapolis wedding photographer
Chirstina and Jim met in the choir at The Basilica St. Mary  in Minneapolis, MN. It was such a sweet and wonderful little love story, I was so moved! I absolutely love the Basilica but haven’t shot a wedding there in a couple years. I was so thrilled to be able to shoot another wedding there! They had a very small weddings party, the bride’s sisters and a friend of the groom’s. Everything was just perfect.
Because they met in the choir, we made an effort to have pictures in the choir loft and featured the beauty of the Basilica as much as we could. It’s not too hard since it’s such a wonderful place! During the ceremony the priest mentioned they have had several couples meet in the choir and get married this year. So if you’re single and Catholic, apparently the church choir is the place to be!
Their reception was at Edingurgh USA which I also love. Christina and Jim elected to have a small table to themselves which I think is really sweet and intimate. Everyone was having a really fun time and there was so much joy. There were happy faces and lots of enthusiastic dancing. They were so very indulgent of me and I took them outside a few times to catch the light as it changed from brilliant blue skies to a dusky sunset.
Unfortunately, the family suffered a very personal and tragic loss shortly before the wedding. It’s a loss that I can understand on a personal level as I’ve been through it myself. The family chose to go ahead with the wedding despite the loss. At the reception, they also had everyone light candles in honor of lost loved ones.
I think it’s important that we recognize and honor our losses while also being able to celebrate our lives. Those that loved us want us to be happy, even in their absence.
Sorry, things got a little sad there.
I absolutely loved this couple and their families. I enjoyed getting to know all of them and was honored to be a part of such a joyful celebration. Congratulations on your wedding and I know you will have very happy lives together.
Shelley and Bill – Stillwater wedding photographer
Shelley and Bill had a beautiful and intimate wedding in Stillwater, MN this spring.
The bride and her friends got ready at the always gorgeous Lowell Inn. I just love that place! It’s just so stunning and unique.
They planned to have the entire event at the groom’s parent’s home but the weather was so dodgy this spring they decided to have the reception at Applewood Hills Golf Course. Their ceremony was short but loving and the decorations were minimalist and clever. I love the branches and ribbon.
The whole group was just so much crazy fun. I had a great time breaking into my wedding season with this bunch.
Thank you so much for having me be a part of your special day. I really appreciate it and enjoyed getting to know you all! Thanks for having me as your wedding photographer!
