FREE Wedding Photography!

FREE Wedding Photography!

As you may have seen, in celebration of marriage equality here in MN I am giving away FREE wedding photography to TWO glbtq couples! I’m so excited that everyone can now get married and am glad I was able to be a part of the struggle.

I’ve had such a wonderful response as I’ve been promoting this offer on social media. Thank you everyone for all the great comments and feedback! I really do appreciate it.

So far, one of the weddings has been claimed so there’s still one left. I would LOVE to hear from you!! I have photographed weddings, engagements and family portraits for same sex couples before but would love to add more to my portfolio.

Hooray Minnesota! Bring on the gay weddings!

Here in Minnesota, we don’t let a little thing like a winter of frigid temperatures slow us down. This arctic wedding was just before New Years in Cannon Falls and Northfield, MN.

This was a really fun wedding, even when we had to huddle together for warmth by the river!

Landscape and nature photography is something that I’ve always loved, but not something I’ve spent a lot of time working on. While I was in Red Wing for the last portrait session I posted, I stopped down by the river to take a few landscapes. I also got a few shots of some amazing birds. I only caught one eagle the entire time but I got some beautiful shots of an osprey and a turkey vulture.

It’s a bit of a departure for me but I certainly enjoyed it! I hope you like them too.

Molly and Makenzie are absolutely adorable sisters. I had so much fun playing with them. They were pretty wiggly of course and gave me a run for my money, but it was totally worth it. There was a lot of playing dress up and dancing which always makes things a lot more fun. They had so many beautiful little dresses and really fun toys, it made the entire experience fun for all of us. It really is true that if the children are comfortable, it makes for better pictures.

I tried a few different things in this session and I really like how everything came out. I hope you do too!

I was so thrilled to work with the gorgeous Frank family. They were so kind and welcoming, it was a joy to be in their home.

The children were simply charming and the youngest reminded me so much of mine it was hard to not ruffle his hair at every opportunity! It was easy to work with such a good looking group and mom did a fantastic job of selecting outfits that coordinated without being too matchy. If you’re looking for tips on how to dress your family, take a look at this group, it’s pretty perfect.

Thank you so much for having me and I can’t wait to work with you again!

I’ve been quite fortunate to be able to be a part of this family’s life for many years now. I’ve photographed their first pregnancy and their first son. Young Baz was a preemie and the month he was in the NICU was a very hard time for them.

The P family was excited to wear they would be welcoming another son into their family this past year. Unfortunately, it was a difficult pregnancy and ended with an even longer NICU stay with their micro-preemie.

Everyone is home now and doing well so I was finally able to come meet young Sam.

They’re such a wonderful family and I am amazed by all the difficult things they’ve had to manage with the health of their children. I am humbled by their courage.

Baz: 19 months
Sam: 8 months

I absolutely love photographing babies. It’s not only because it reminds me of when my kids were babies – it’s just because I love babies! Being able to be a part of something as important as the birth of a new baby is a really moving experience for me.

And the chance to cuddle a new baby is always fun!

I photographed little Logan at his home in Eagan with his wonderful parents. They were all just a delight to be with.  Logan is so cute and so sweet! I gave him a few extra cuddles even though being around me seemed to relax his bowels… It’s ok though! It happens. I was just having too much fun taking pictures of his sweet little face!

I’m so glad I got to meet Logan and his family. Everyone was so warm and welcoming. Logan is a very well loved little guy. Congratulations!

This is the last installment of my winter art pictures! From the looks of the weather, we may finally be rid of all the snow (at least in my yard) this weekend. I’m totally excited!

Emily contacted me for an Ice Queen inspired shoot. She had this amazing jeweled dress and a crown she wanted to wear. It was totally fun. Unfortunately, it was *ridiculously* cold. The temperature dropped to the low teens that day. We had to work quickly to get the shots without freezing her to death!

She was totally hard core.

Thanks for working with me!

For the next installment of our somewhat fond (lukewarm?) farewell to winter, I have a beautiful snow fairy. We got some beautiful fresh powder a few weeks ago and I was *so* thrilled. I thought it might be our last chance for fresh, clean snow of the season so I scrambled to get a shoot together. Sadly, I now know I would have plenty of other chances to shoot on fresh snow…

I found an absolutely stunning pair of wings on Etsy from KissedByPixies shops. She was so wonderful to work with and extremely helpful! We ended up needing to have them sent overnight because of snow delays and when I had the shoot scheduled. The wings arrived in ample time and were far more beautiful than they appeared online! Thank you again for your help!

My snow fairy model was referred by a mutual friend and I am so glad I was able to meet her. We had a really wonderful time talking and she was fantastic to work with. It’s great when you go in to a project with a new person and come out with a new friend. I’m excited to work with her again on another project!

I hope you enjoy these pictures! I know I had a great time working on them.

For the next installment of my fond farewell to winter, I’m thrilled to share my Persephone themed shoot. I wanted to do this last winter but there just wasn’t enough good snow days. The day we had this scheduled, it was extremely cold. It was a day we had winter weather advisory for the cold and wind chill. I believe it was about 3°F without wind chill…

I planned to just reschedule an outdoor portion for another day but my model was sure she could handle it! She did great, but *I* froze. I was so busy trying to make sure she stayed warm, I managed to freeze myself. Oops!

We also killed our flowers. hehe… The florist warned us that the flowers wouldn’t do well in the frigid cold. I was just thrilled they did fine while we were shooting. Once I brought them in… they sort of melted.

Anyway, I had a great time working on this with my favorite model. I’m hoping to do more along this theme this year actually!
