I like working with models. It gives me a chance to try new techniques and practice different things I’m working on. Of course it also gives a model some fun, new material for their portfolio so it works out for everyone! Renee needed some new work for her portfolio as she signed up with a new agency and I was happy to work with her! I tried a few new things and I think it worked out well. She liked her pictures and things worked out with the new agency too!
Sebastian – 1 year child portrait photographer Richfiled, MN
Somehow, young little Sebastian is already one year old! It seems as though I was taking his mother’s maternity pictures just a few months ago. I think the older I get, the faster time seems to pass.
I have been lucky enough to do not only his mother’s maternity pictures but also some of his infant portraits when he finally made it home from the NICU. For his one year pictures we went to the same park as we did those maternity portraits just over a year ago. I thought it had a nice symmetry to it all.
Here are some images from that session with Sebastian, his sweet smile and his amazing eyelashes. Soon, I hope to be able to show you his baby brother!
Baby V – Minneapolis Newborn Photographer
I was so thrilled to photograph baby V when she was just six days old. I love working with newborns, they’re just so sweet and such a delight to be around. Little V was super cooperative and her parents are absolutely smitten with her. I could see why, she’s such a sweet little peanut!
I managed to only take Miss V’s pictures and not also take her home with me. Here are a few pictures from her session!
Team Photoblog – Day in the Life
It seems like everyone loves a little “Day in the Life” post! If you’re not familiar, it’s a set of photos chronicling your day. It can be a typical day or an unusual day but I think a typical day is more insightful. This is a rather quiet day around the house, playing with my kids, doing laundry, making lunch, things like that. I hope you enjoy!

Michelle and Joe – Minneapolis wedding photographer
I had the pleasure of photographing Michelle and Joe’s Minneapolis wedding on Cinco de Mayo this spring.
They were honestly, some of the most amazingly fun people I have worked with. Michelle’s bridesmaids were simply a delight and caused so much wonderful trouble, my second shooter had trouble keeping up with them! One of them told me a story that she called Michelle and asked if it was ok that the dress she had picked out for the wedding was “basically a tutu.” Michelle said that was totally fine. How awesome is THAT? I told them it was not only a great question to be asked but obviously the best answer possible.
Michelle and Joe were married at Five, the historical Fifth police precinct of Minneapolis. It’s such a great and unique venue, I love working there. It was raining when we first arrived but it cleared up right before the ceremony and we were able to go outside for fun and pictures. The ever adventurous bridesmaids even had a little fun with the police officer on hand to help at the event. Wow!
There was so much joy and love at this wedding it was really a privilege to be able to attend. From the obvious thrill as they saw each other walking down the isle, to the gentle teasing during their vows, it was a delight. Michelle and Joe were wonderful at their first dance and the band they hired was a lot of fun. They clearly took some lessons for their dance and it really paid off. It was followed up by Michelle’s dance with her father and he was quite smooth on the dance floor!
Really, it was a perfect evening! Congratulations Michelle and Joe!

Team Photoblog has regrouped for the month of September. I’ve been woefully behind on posting my 365 images and this hasn’t been any better! I was rather horrified to see how behind I was when it is only for a month! Whew! I’m happy to be able to post some now though. So sorry for the mass posting and severe delay. It’s been quite fun!
