Blogging last year
Hi there everyone! I am working on getting things from last year all tied up and it’s been an amazing trip down memory lane. The up side to not having blogged ANY of my weddings or portraits from last year is that I get to look through everything now with fresh eyes. It also means that as I do blog them, they will be going up in the appropriate season. It always feels a little strange to put up a winter wedding during the summer!
I want to take a moment to sincerely thank everyone who made 2014 possible for me and my family. I worked with a lot of really wonderful couples and families. I met a lot of fantastically interesting people and I learned more than I ever imagined. It’s been an exception experience of community.
I also continued to work with Safe Hands Rescue and support their efforts to rescue dogs. I’ve also started to work with a similar rescue group that helps cats. I absolutely love animals!!
There is a little bad news though. After photographing 35 weddings and, over 80 family sessions and child portraits, I got a little bit burnt out. I’m working now to regroup and make sure that during the busy season, I still get enough time to spend with my children and maybe relax every once in a while. It’s good to know your limits! I have learned that 9 weddings in a month is too many for me.
Blogging is one of the things that fell by the way side early on so I am excited to be able to share all these images with you!
Thank you all!
Christy and Renee – University Club lesbian wedding photography
I absolutely loved photographing Christy and Renee’s wedding at the University Club in St. Paul, Minnesota. Christy and Renee have been together for a very long time and have worked hard to secure marriage equality. They were so thrilled to finally be able to have their relationship recognized we had to get some fun pictures with their paperwork.
Christy is a huge Star Wars fan so we had a blast playing with some light sabers. She even wrote her vows in a Star Wars notebook!
They were a really fun group and there was so much dancing! Christy and Renee even gave out custom can cozies as favors. They also had a very fun silver and gold theme. It was so very appropriate.
Thank you so much for having me be a part of your day. It was an honor and a privilege.
R and P’s Renaissance wedding in Long Lake, MN
This is one of the more unique weddings I’ve photographed. The key theme words that the bride told me was that she wanted to be like a princess meeting her viking warrior. They absolutely nailed it! A Renaissance wedding is always fun to photograph and this was no exception.
The groom and some of his groomsmen do some sword fighting and they were a lot of fun to work with! The flower girls were little fairies and they even had a court jester! I don’t get to photograph many weddings that include swordplay. The colors, personalities and thematic details made this an absolute delight to work with.
Had an amazing time at this wedding. Thanks so much R and P for having me be a part of your day.
C and P Como Conservatory wedding photography
I absolutely love photographing weddings at the Como Zoo and Conservatory. It’s a fantastically beautiful location. The building is amazing and the gardens are always stunning.
I met with the bride at her home in St. Paul to photograph her getting ready. We then took a trolley to Como. They were so happy to finally see each other and more than ready to blend their families!
C and P had a ton of really fun, classic southern charm. The bride moved up to Minnesota from Texas and brought a lot of southern flavor and traditions with her. She was a really wonderful bride to work with and so very beautiful!
They had a small reception at Old Arizona with a lot of sweet, rustic details. It was a challenging location for me to photograph but everyone was so fun I had a great time.
Thank you so much C and P for having me be a part of your day! I really enjoyed meeting your children and all your families.
Outdoor Jewish wedding photography in Minneapolis
This is easily one of my favorite weddings I’ve ever photographed. I don’t have a really big reason why, I just really enjoyed this entire event. Sometimes it’s not one major highlight, just a lot of little things. As a photographer, I got to utilize so many different locations and work with some really wonderful people.
They were a delightful couple from New York and so very comfortable in front of the camera. There were a ton of beautiful and unique details and entire event from beginning to end was absolutely joyful.
The couple got ready and did their first look at The Westin Hotel in Minneapolis. Then we traveled to Thomas Lowry park for their ceremony. We did a lot of fantastic portraits here while the family set up the hand made chuppah. After the ceremony we retired to Cafe Lurcat for dinner and dancing.
Thank you so much for having me be a part of your day!
Stillwater wedding photography – G and A’s international wedding
This wedding was an amazing experience for me. It was a truly international affair. The bride and groom were from opposite ends of the world. Their families came from all around the globe to help celebrate their wedding in Stillwater.
It was so wonderful and moving to see all these people who had traveled thousands of miles, speaking several different languages coming together. The different families were so happy and so supportive of each other. Everyone was so excited!
They had a positively jubilant reception. The dancing was enthusiastic and went on for hours into the night.
I had an absolutely fantastic time at this wedding and I learned a lot. Thank you so much for having me be a part of your day!

Wedding Photography at Mississippi Dunes Golf Links – D and B
This beautiful summer wedding was a blending of two families. The couple worked hard to include their children in the event. They were all so sweet and and lovely to work with! I love photographing weddings at the Mississippi Dune Golf Links. It’s a fantastic location. The outdoor ceremony site is beautiful and intimate overlooking the river. I actually saw a huge bald eagle circle overhead before the ceremony. I tried to catch a picture of it but the leaves of the towering trees obscured it too much.
The couple were so fun and were happy to go along with us for different photos. They had several photographer friends so had a lot of practice working with a photographer! It was a nice surprise. We were able to get a lot of really amazing pictures.
Thank you so much for having me be a part of your day!

6 month old portraits – Logan
Little Logan is one of my regulars. I’ve been lucky to do his newborn and three month old portrait sessions. We had to change our location at the last minute because of the extreme heat. The Guthrie is always a great option so we decided to go there. All the amazing blue windows gave us a really fun affect on the portraits.
I’m behind on posting Logan’s portraits so I have a lot more coming.
Thanks so much for letting me be a part of your life!
St. Paul Shoreview wedding photography
I absolutely loved this wedding. It was so much fun and I got to work with one of my favorite photographers. We hit a few a few different locations for pictures on the way to the reception and had a really wonderful time. We went to the ever popular stone arch bridge and to a really beautiful park for some beautiful fall scenery.
The couple had some really fun ideas. It was really great to bounce ideas off each other and get some really creative things done.
Thanks so much for letting me be a part of your day!

A and T – St. Paul Landmark Center Wedding Photography
Here in Minnesota, we’re not afraid of a winter wedding! Well, sometimes we are, but we try really hard! This November wedding was very chilly but we still braved some out door pictures. I love photographing weddings at the Landmark Center in St. Paul. It’s such an amazing location. We used a lot of the architectural details in our portraits to help display the classic touches to this wedding.
Everyone was really fun and laid back. There was an easy comfort-ability with everyone that made it really enjoyable. The evening was absolutely beautiful. The Landmark Center is stunning by its self but it’s wonderful when it’s lit up at night. I had a really amazing time working with everyone.
Congratulations A and T! Thank you for having me be a part of your day.
